Meraz'22 SciTech Events
A talk show by well known competitive programmer, Utkarsh Gupta from IIT BHU(Varanasi) (Google Kickstart AIR 1, GrandMaster on Codeforces and 7 Star on CodeChef) It will be a session on how competitive programming helps in improving the analytical and logical skills. And how it can help in cracking good product based companies .
Participants will be given a dataset consisting of many various classes and the task will be to make a CAPTCHA out of them of random images and then train an ML algorithm that will be able to break that CAPTCHA! And beware, as no use of Neural Networks will be allowed. So flaunt your traditional machine learning skills here :) You’ll be given 10 chances, and you’ll be evaluated on how many times your algo gives the correct prediction out of 10. Partial marking will also be given to those with top 3 F1 scores out of all!
All participants registering for Meraz will get their picture clicked at the time of registration. The pictures will be used to find a face embedding. The nearest face embeddings will be matched! Face embedding will be generated using deep learning.
This is a team event where teams consist of 2-3 participants. The teams will draw chits which contain a task which needs to be automated eg. You need to login in to google meet using the given credentials. The teams have to write scripts which implement the task. Each task will have several subtasks like for the example, if the credentials are drawn out from a CSV file then 2 points and if the credentials are automatically obtained from mail or whatsapp then it will result in 4 points. The points allotted will be based on the difficulty of the subtask. The top 3 teams will be decided based on the points obtained and the time taken. All teams who successfully complete their task will be given goodies
The participants will be given a buggy source code of a program and will be shown how the debugged program should work. They are expected to identify the bugs, debug the code and the one who does It first wins.
The maximum team size is 4. The objective is to design a manual robot(wired or wireless) and which can compete in an arena. In this competition, 2 robots would be placed on either side of the arena. Each robot will be given chances of ride and the task of riding robot is to transfer the cube placed in opponent’s arena and cross the partition line. Meanwhile task of The defending robot is to push the riding robot out of the arena.
Bring out The hidden Messi, Ronaldo in you and prove that "No one plays soccer, better than engineers". The objective of this competition is to design a manual robot(wireless or wired) and which can compete in an arena designed for robotic soccer. Two robots will be placed in the arena, one bot will try to put ball in goal post and another bot will defend it.
GoLang Product Based Hackathon This shall be the culminating event of a knowledge packed series of sessions on GoLang by a member at OpenLake. There shall be 15 tutorial sessions starting next Wednesday and 2 each week. Each of these sessions shall be streamed on YouTube and publicized to promote external participation. The hackathon will be focused on developing a well documented secure system justifying a team size between 5-7 members.
A blockchain based treasure hunt where the users will be given an image with some hints on the website link. The image should be decrypted to find the link and hint for the answers in that website. The participants will then be asked to use this answer as a key for opening the next image. The First person to break all the encryptions and reach the final website will be the winner.
Each person participating will enter the round 1 which has some basic obstacles and those who will pass this round will go to round 2.Round 2 will consist of more obstacles and turns. Participants with least no of penalties will win.
Participants will be provided VR headsets which they can use for playing games on the stand alone VR headsets or can watch short movies or play PC games by connecting it to their laptops (we will also provide min 1 PC for this) Setup A PC with connected VR headsets will be provided. 2 such setups are required to cover the number of participants expected. 1 person gets to use the setup for max 10 min.
Planets, stars, galaxies and all other space elements in the universe are showcased in domed shaped 3d projection in a mobile planetarium. Students from our iit Bhilai and other school students from Raipur are welcomed to enjoy the show. Setup The planetarium provider will set up the stage in the academic building foyer. Around 60 -100 students can be seated in a round of 30 mins each.
